Photofacials use Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to treat a variety of skin conditions, including acne scars, broken capillaries and spider veins, rosacea, fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, and hyperpigmentation.

IPL can be used to improve multiple skin discoloration issues such as pigmented vascular lesions (telangiectasis, port wine stains, etc.) as well as pigmented skin spots or scars, stretch marks, fine lines and wrinkles, and dark hair. IPL uses light energy to target specific areas in the skin.

The treatment is typically performed in a series of 3-6 sessions, with each session lasting about 30 minutes. There is typically little to no downtime after the treatment, and most patients can resume their normal activities immediately.

Benefits of Spider Removal by IPL:

  • Can remove spider veins.
  • Is a non-invasive treatment with minimal downtime.
  • Can be used on the face and legs.

Risks of Spider Removal by IPL:

  • Temporary redness and swelling.
  • Bruising.
  • Hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation (dark or light spots).

Additional Information:

  • IPL is most effective for all skin types.
  • The results of spider removal by IPL are typically noticeable after a few treatments.
  • The treatment is not permanent as this requires some follow-up to restrict vascularity changes, and the spider veins may reappear over time.
