This guide is designed to help you prepare for your services and ensure optimal results and safety afterward. Please review the points relevant to your specific treatment(s).
Sun Exposure/Tanning: Avoid unprotected sun exposure, tanning beds, or self-tanners in treatment areas. Recent sun exposure (including vacations/events) may lead to rescheduling.
Pregnancy & Nursing: Most treatments are contraindicated. A doctor’s note is required if considering any service.
Active Infections/Open Lesions: Do not proceed with treatment if you have active infections, open lesions, or are immunosuppressed in the treatment area.
Health History: Always disclose any allergies, history of seizures, current medications, or history of keloid/hypertrophic scarring. Notify us immediately of any health history or medication changes.
Herpes/Cold Sores: If you have a history, an antiviral prescription may be required prior to treatment in the area to prevent an outbreak.
Accutane (Oral Isotretinoin): Treatment is contraindicated if used within the preceding six months. A doctor’s note is required.
Tretinoin (Retin-A or Renova): Avoid use in the treatment area as directed by your specific service (e.g., 3 days prior for laser, or as advised for non-laser treatments).
SPF 45/50: Consistent use of SPF 45/50 is required before and after ALL treatments.
Avoid Sun/Self-Tanners: No sun-tanning or self-tanners (spray tans, lotions, beds) for 8 weeks prior.
Avoid Irritating Treatments: No waxing, depilatories, etc., for 4 weeks prior.
Shave (Hair Removal Only): Shave the area on the same day prior to Laser Hair Removal.
Immediate Reaction: Expect a mild sunburn-like sensation (2-24 hrs, possibly up to 72 hrs). Mild swelling/redness may occur (2-3 days).
Soothing: Apply Aloe Vera and/or ice-cold packs (10-15 mins/hour for 4 hours, or as needed).
Discomfort: An oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (like Acetaminophen) may be taken.
Bathing: Bathe/shower as usual; cool water offers relief if temperature sensitive.
Avoid: Until redness resolves:
Aggressive scrubbing/exfoliants (scrub brushes, loofahs).
Harsh cosmetics.
Swimming (especially chlorinated pools), hot tubs/Jacuzzis.
Activities causing excessive perspiration.
Prolonged Redness/Blistering: If this occurs, apply Aloe Vera and SPF 45/50 twice a day until healed.
No Lotions/Recent Sun: Avoid lotions on the treatment area, recent sun exposure, or tanning creams.
Medications/Chemicals: Back off antibiotics 3 days prior. Back off retinol and harsh chemicals.
Natural Spray Tanning: Only TNP-approved brands. No pre-tanning on the site. Exfoliate skin without moisturizing exfoliation 7-14 days prior. No lotions/deodorant immediately prior.
Chemical & Exfoliation Procedures: Refer to general non-laser post-treatment instructions.
Breast Improvement Tx: Doctor’s note required. Contraindicated for severe diseases, hemorrhagic diseases, dermatosis, skin destruction, allergic dermatitis, breast cancer.
Waxing: No retinol or harsh chemicals before treatment.
Fit Body IR / Infrared Sauna, Salt Cave: No current tanning. No ailments without prior approval. No metal in the body. Drink water prior, eat small meal.
Teeth Whitening: Full dental exam recommended prior. Notify us of active issues. No antibiotics 3 days prior. Risk of reaction with undiagnosed issues.
Electrology: Leave hair follicle. No harsh chemicals, lotions, or topicals on the area.
Sclerotherapy (Spider Veins):
Pre-Care: Take usual meds (unless instructed). Wear loose clothing/comfortable shoes for compression stockings. Bring shorts if preferred. Shower morning of (no moisturizer on legs). Do not shave legs on treatment morning. Bring/wear compression stockings.
Avoid Tanning: Legs for ~1 month before and at least 1 month after. Use heavy sunscreen.
Colonics Hydrotherapy (Colon Cleansing):
Contraindications: Pregnancy, under 18 (doctor’s note required), specific medical conditions (check full consent form). NO EXCEPTIONS.
General Advice: Hydration and supplementation are helpful. Drink enough water.
Active Infections/Antibiotics: Reschedule 3 days after last antibiotic dose, or provide doctor’s note.
Alcohol: Avoid at least 24 hours prior to prevent bruising.
Exercise: Avoid vigorous exercise on the day of treatment.
Blood Thinners/Anti-inflammatories: Avoid for 2 weeks prior: aspirin, NSAIDs (Ibuprofen, Naprosyn, Aleve), Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, St. John’s Wort, Coumadin/warfarin, Pletal, Aggrenox. Always speak to your physician before discontinuing prescribed meds.
Special Occasions: Schedule injections at least 2 weeks prior to any event in case of bruising.
PRP BioFiller/Injections (Specific): Must be hydrated and healthy. No blood-thinning agents (Vitamin E, A, Ginko, Garlic, Flax, Cod Liver Oil, Essential Fatty Acids) for at least 1 week after your treatment.
PRP Injections/Hair Restoration/Eyebrow: Do NOT touch, press, rub, or manipulate the treated area(s) for at least 8 hours after treatment.
PRP Injections: Avoid alcohol and cigarettes for the next 3 days. Avoid Advil, Aleve, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Motrin
Frequency: Generally 1 time per week. See consent form for severe/chronic health issue programs.
Contraindications: DO NOT USE IF: Pregnant/nursing, have a pacemaker/electrical implant, organ transplant, taking antiarrhythmic/anticoagulant/chelating medication, or medication whose absence could cause mental/physical incapacitation (e.g., antipsychotics, antiepileptics).
Pre-Care: Nearly everyone is a candidate, except those with open sores/infection on feet.
Post-Care: Toxins continue to flush for 24-48 hours. Hydration and mineral supplements recommended. Reduce frequency if excessive detox reactions occur.
